Learner Spotlight: Shahab S.

 Hi! Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Hi! My name is Shahab. I am an architect from Iran, and have graduated from the American University in Dubai.

 

Why did you decide to learn English?

Owing to a long gap after university, and not being in touch with native English speakers, I felt a lack of fluency, so I decided to pursue an English language course.

 

What made you choose a course at Eton Institute?

I decided to take an English course at Eton Institute because of my friend’s recommendation.

 

How was your experience studying at Eton Institute?

I’ve had a  great experience studying at Eton Institute.

 

What’s your best tip for people who want to start learning English?

My suggestion to everyone would be to start from the lowest possible language level, and come back to Eton once in a while to review or improve. Since we are aren’t native speakers, it is very normal to forget or lose fluency in the target language.

 

What did you find challenging, and how did you overcome it? 

I found academic and official writing challenging, and I have improved them with IELTS preparation, and lots of practice.

 

Are there any other languages on your bucket list? 

Yes, Romanian and German.
